Relation between the Parent's Child Rearing Attitudes toward Mental Retarded Child and their Normal Sibling's Self-concept

Abstract
This study has been focused on the following questions :
@EN 1) The normal sibling's self concept who has the retarded sibling
2) The normal sibling's perception on the aittitude of parents,
3) The relationship between the normal sibling's self cencept and perception on the rearing attitude of parents.
4) and the normal sibling's self cencept and attitude who has the retarded brother or sister on the basis of their sex, seniority, and individual character.
@ES Conclusions are as follows :
@EN 1. Self concept on the normal sibling who has the retarded brother or sister is significantly higher than self concept of the sibling who has the normal brother or sister.
2. There is no significant difference in the parent's rearing attitude to their normal children who has the retarded brother or sister and their children who has the normal brother or sister. This result implies that both groups of parents are
similar
in the rearing attitude.
3. There is high correlation between the normal siblings' self concept and the rearing attitude of parents. This result clearly shows that parents' rearing attitude influences their children's self concept.
4. Sex and sibling's position clearly influence the normal sibling's self concept. If the normal sibling's sex is the same as the retarded brother or sister, his/her self concept is higher than the self concept of the sibling who has the
retarded
opposit sex brother or sister.
5. Major variables that influence to the normal sibling's self concept are sibling's age, school grades, religion, and parents' rearing attitude.
6. Major variables that influence to parents rearing attitude are parent's education level.
